GGSIPU CET

The Guru Govind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU) conducts the Common Entrance Test (CET) known as the GGSIPU CET for admission to various undergraduate courses in Engineering, Technology, and Science, on the basis of the merit obtained by the candidate in the Common Entrance Test (CET) that leads the candidate to the Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech). The University also has the lateral entry scheme into the B.Tech programme and the diploma holders can also attend the examination.

The candidates can also apply for the six year dual degree programme, which includes Master of Technology (M.Tech) degree. Other than the engineering programs, the GGSIPU CET also offers admission into the programmes in the field of management, education, mass communication, law and medicine.

The Government of National Capital Territory of Delhi established the Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU) under the University Act 1998. GGSIPU (IP University) (IPU) provides education in various disciplines and admission into various degree programs whether undergraduate or post graduate level is taken via Common Entrance Test (CET).

GGSIPU CET Application Procedure

  • The candidate can apply for GGSIPU CET both in online and offline mode.
  • The applications can be attained by the candidates through post by sending a demand draft.
  • The form should be submitted along with all necessary documents and the demand draft.

GGSIPU CET Eligibility Criteria

Given below are the eligibility criteria for admission into various Courses in GGSIPU such as:
  • B.Tech. / M.Tech. (Dual Degree) Chemical Engineering
  • B.Tech. / M.Tech. (Dual Degree) Information Technology
  • B.Tech./M.Tech. (Dual Degree) Computer Science & Engineering
  • B.Tech. (Information Technology, Computer Science & Engg., Electronics & Communication Engg., Mechanical & Automation Engg., Power Engg., Electrical & Electronics Engg., Civil Engg. and Instrumentation & Control Engg., Tool Engg. & Environment Engg.)
The candidates must score a minimum of 55% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics in their class 12 of 10 2 pattern of CBSE or other equivalent examination. They should also pass each subject separately and must additionally on English as a subject of study.

Lateral Entry to B.Tech. Programmes For Diploma Holders (2nd Yr/3rd Semester)

Note: The Diploma in Architecture holder candidates are not eligible for lateral entry to Engineering/ Technology degree programme.

Lateral Entry in B.Tech for B.Sc. Graduates (2nd yr/3rd semester)

  • The candidates should score at least 60% aggregate marks with Mathematics in their B.Sc. final exam from a recognized University.

B.Tech./M.Tech (Dual Degree) Bio- Technology

  • The candidate must score a minimum of 55% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology/ Biotechnology in their class 12 examination of 10 2 pattern of CBSE or other equivalent examination. They should also pass in all the subjects separately, including English as a core/elective/functional in the qualifying examination.

MBBS

  • The candidate must be a citizen of India and minimum 17 years of age on last week of December 2018.
  • The candidate must score a minimum of 50% aggregate marks (40% marks for SC/ST candidates) in Physics, Chemistry and Biology in their class 12 examination under the 10 2 scheme/ Senior School Certificate Examination. The candidates must also pass in their English subject. The final year candidates are also eligible to apply for the course.

Master of Computer Applications MCA (Software Engineering)

  • The candidate must score a minimum of 50% aggregate marks in their Bachelors Degree in any discipline from a recognized University. They should also pass in their Certificate Examination (Class XII) of the CBSE or any other equivalent examination.
    Or
    50% aggregate marks in their BCA/BIT/BIS of three years duration or any other equivalent qualification from a recognized University.

  • 50% aggregate marks in their Bachelors Degree in Engineering or Technology or any other equivalent qualification from a recognized University.

Master of Mass Media

  • The candidate should score a minimum of 50% aggregate marks in Graduation in any discipline from a recognized University.

MPT (Musculoskeletal), MPT (Sports), MPT (Neurology)

  • The candidate should score a minimum of 50% aggregate marks in Bachelor of Physiotherapy programme (BPT) of 4 years duration (including the internship) from a recognized University.
    OR
    50% aggregate marks in Bachelor of Physiotherapy/B.Sc. (Physiotherapy) of 3 years duration (including the internship) and also scoring 50% marks in the one year of bridge course.

MOT (Musculoskeletal), MPT (Neurology)

  • The candidate should score a minimum of 50% aggregate marks in Bachelor of Occupational Therapy programme (BOT) from a recognized University.

Master of Prosthetics and Orthotics (MPO)

  • The candidate should score a minimum of 50% aggregate marks in Bachelor of Prosthetics & Orthotics programmes (BPO) from a recognized University.

Master of Public Health (FE)

  • The candidates having an MBBS degree from any recognized institution are eligible to apply for the course.

M.Sc. (Environment Management)

  • The candidate should score a minimum of 50% aggregate marks in B.Sc. Degree or its other equivalent examination.
    OR
    Minimum 50% aggregate marks in B.Sc.(Engg.), B.Tech. or B.E. in Civil/Chemical/Agricultural Engg Degree.

LL.M

  • The candidate score a minimum of 50% marks in their LL.B. Degree and should be enrolled as an advocate by the Bar Council of India
    OR
    Any other equivalent law degree from a foreign university with atleast 50% marks.

M.A.(English & Communication Studies)

  • The candidate should score a minimum of 50% marks in graduation in any discipline from a recognized University.

BCA

  • Atleast 50% aggregate marks with English (core or elective or functional) and Mathematics or Computer Science/Informatics Practice/Computer Applications in their class 12 of 10 2 of CBSE or other equivalent examination.
    Or
    50% aggregate marks in their three year Diploma in Engineering from a polytechnic which is approved by all India council for technical education and affiliated to the recognized examining body.

B.Sc. (Hons) Nursing [Only For Unmarried Female Candidates]

  • The candidate must atleast score a minimum of 50% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry, Biology in their class 12 of 10 2 of CBSE or other equivalent examination. They should pass in each subject separately.
N.B.: The course is only for the unmarried female candidates.

B.Ed.

  1. For Graduates:
    (a) The candidate must atleast score a minimum of 50% aggregate marks in Bachelor’s degree in humanities and social sciences from a recognized University and having studied any one of the following subjects:
    (i) English
    (ii) Hindi
    (iii) Sanskrit
    (iv) Urdu
    (v) Mathematics
    (vi) Social Science
    Note:
    (i) Out of all the listed teaching subjects, the candidate should pass in any two subjects, which should also be available in the institute / college in which the candidate wish to take admission.
    (ii) For candidates who had Civics (Political Science) or History or Geography or Economics as a subject are eligible to pursue Social Sciences as one of the teaching subject.
    (iii) The candidate can choose the second teaching subject from the main or subsidiary subjects in which the candidates have score at least 45% marks at the graduation level or at 12th level

    (b) The candidates should score a minimum of 50% aggregate marks in their Bachelor’s degree in Science from a recognized university. They should also study any one of the following subjects:
    (i) Physics
    (ii) Chemistry
    (iii) Mathematics
    (iv) Biology
    (v) Botany
    (vi) Zoology
    (vii) Life Science

    (c) For all graduate students, should score 50% marks in the qualifying examination and 45% in the school teaching subjects chosen by the candidate.

    (d)For all B.A(H)/B.Sc(H) students, should score 50% marks in the qualifying examination and mandatory 45% in the subsidiary subject.

    Note:
    (i) Out of all the listed teaching subjects, the candidate should pass in any two subjects, which should also be available in the institute / college in which the candidate wish to take admission.
    (ii) For integrated sciences as one of the teaching subjects, the candidates must successfully clear any of the papers that include Physics/Chemistry/Biology/Botany/Zoology/Life Science.
    (iii) The candidates who are not eligible for the B.Ed programme are those who have done B.Tech, M.Tech, B.Lib.M.lib, B.com(Pass), B.Com(H), B.A(Vocational), BJMC/MJMC/B.Pharma/BCA/MCA/BBA/MBA/PGDBM/BPT/MPT/BHMCT/MBBS/BHMS/B.Arch/LLB/LLM and any other technical degree which does not come under conventional school system. Graduates and P.G degree/Diploma in food technology, CA, CS and Fashion technology are also not eligible to take admission in B.Ed programme.

  2. For Post Graduates:
    Candidates scoring atleast 50% marks in the qualifying examination from a recognized university are eligible to apply for the B.Ed programme. They should study any one of the following subjects:

    English, Hindi, Sanskrit,Urdu, Mathematics, Social Science, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology, Botany, Zoology, Life science, Biotechnology/Biochemistry/Biophysics/Bioscience, Accountancy, Business Studies, History, Political Science, Economics, Geography, Psychology, Punjabi Home Science.

    Note:
    (i) From the subjects listed above, the candidates will be allotted with any one subject and the same should also be offered by the college/institute where the candidate wish to pursue B.Ed.
    (ii) For biology as a teaching subject, the candidate should pass in either of the following subjects
    Botany
    Zoology
    Biotechnology
    Biochemistry
    Life science

Lateral Entry to Bachelor of Pharmacy for Diploma Holders (2nd Year/3rd Semester)

Atleast 60% marks in Diploma in Pharmacy from any Institution/ University/Board recognized by PCI and AICTE.

MBA

  • Atleast 60% marks in B.E./B. Tech.
  • Atleast 60% marks in M.Sc. (CS), M. Sc. (IT), M.Sc. (Electronic).
  • Atleast 60% marks in MCA.

B.A, LL.B (Hons.), BBA.,LL.B (Hons.)

  • The candidate should score at least 50% marks in their class 12 or other equivalent examination and also should pass in English as a core or elective or functional subject.

M.A./M.Sc. (Criminology)

i) The candidate should have a LL.B. Degree from a recognised university/institute.
OR
ii) 50% marks in the 3 year's Bachelor's Degree in Social science from any recognized university.
Given below are the list of subjects from which the candidates are required to opt for at least two subjects at the graduation level for a minimum of 4 semesters (or 2 year).

The candidate should score a minimum of 60% marks B.Ed. examination and must be a Graduate or a Post Graduate in any discipline from a recognized University.

BBA, BBA (Computer Aided Management), BBA (Banking & Insurance), BBA (Tour & Travel Management)
  • The candidate should score atleast 50% marks in class 12 or other equivalent examination and must pass in the English language as a core/elective/functional subject.

Bachelor of Hotel Management & Catering Technology

  • The candidate should score atleast 50% marks in class 12 or other equivalent examination and must pass in the English language as a core/elective/functional subject.

Bachelor of Physiotherapy (BPT), Bachelor of Occupational Therapy (BOT), Bachelor of Prosthetics Orthotics (BPO)

  • The candidate should score atleast 50% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology in their class 12 or other equivalent examination. They must also pass in each subject separately and should clear English language as a core/elective/functional subject.

M.Sc. (Biodiversity & Conservation)

  • The candidate should score atleast 50% marks in B.Sc degree or other equivalent examination in Botany, Zoology, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Anthropology or any field of Life Sciences.

MBA (Part Time)

  • The candidate should score atleast 50% marks in Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline.
  • 50% marks in Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Technology or any other equivalent subject or qualification from a recognized university or institute.
  • Should successfully complete the final examination of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India or England, the Institute of Cost and Works Accountants of India or England or the Institute of Company Secretaries of India.

    (a) A candidate must be a Graduate from a recognized University

    (b) Minimum have a minimum of one year of work experience at the Executive/Supervisor/Teaching Faculty level in an institution located in the NCR region near New Delhi.

    (c) The employer should provide a No Objection Certificate for pursuing MBA (PT) programme.
N.B.: The classes of MBA (PT) programme are held from 5.00 p.m. onwards.
